In the spirit of Flilpino-ism and the release of Street Fighter, I present Vegawockee.

Taboo, Filipino member of the Black Eyed Peas, plays Vega in the new Street Fighter movie which just released today. He’s a huge supporter of the Jabbawockeez, so it seemed only natural to combine the two. Vega also comes back alive in Street Fighter 4, probably one of the greatest fighting games of all time!

Yazzird, TM is on MTV”S ABDC, and I attended the taping on Monday!!! Trust me… this is the BEST season by far, hands down. I would write a review about the episode but I have to wait before it airs due to legal reasons (and MTV actually sued two people last year for spilling the beans! EEEKKK!!!). The first episode airs tonight at 10pm, so get to texting once our number appears!

As the ABDC team prepares for television supremacy, the competition team back in little ol’ Fullerton works hard into the night piecing together the show. It’s coming along very nicely, and we hope to come strong and loud at Vibe to defend our back to back championships. Come out to watch and cheer on your favorite teams as well, such as Kaba Modern, Choreo Cookies, and CADC!!! Super Crew is also performing as exhibition which should be entertaining.

If you’re not doing anything the day before Vibe (january 24) come take a class or two with yours truly!

Been in Charlotte, NC for the past 2 weeks to visit the fam bam. My nephew is so cute (view the previous entry and you’ll agree). Haven’t been able to focus on just one brand or person or anything, so I just decided to post my newest designs up here. I’d also like to say that I’m look for investors/buyers for my designs. Ambush Design

Earlier today, I got my hypebeast fix and saw that Verbal was featured in a New York Times article capturing some of Japan’s most iconic designers. If you know me, then you know that I love it when I see Koreans being put in the spotlight. Verbal of Teriyaki Boyz and m-flo is one of my idols because I want to be him. He not only works in music but in design as well. His design label, Ambush Design, alongside his wife Yoon, have been designing some of the coolest jewelry and cd covers to date. I’m in love with their Pow! rings and their crown necklaces/rings. Having friends like Pharrell Williams and Nigo of Bape must have an effect on the creative mind! KP Ninja!

Napa Valley

Went to Napa Valley over the weekend with the girlfriend and the Danny’s. It was an exceptional trip, full of wine and incredible food. I have never sipped so much wine before in my life! Very expensive but worth every penny.

the BEST steak I’ve ever had in my life with fries that taste just like McDonald’s but not as greasy or guilty. So good I ordered it again for round 2…

The first night at Bouchon’s was kind of bad… Our waitress wasn’t really paying attention to us, and it felt like all she did was give us our order and check. The Danny’s did their thang and were able to get a FULLY COMPLIMENTARY MEAL the next night!!! Savory pictures towards the end…

Pork dish, pretty good…

Nordaq water, so expensive. $60 per liter. Interesting about this water is that instead of the company bottling and packaging the water themselves, they have restaurants buy the filter system. The restaurants are then charged however much they use, and presto, the lowest cost water company with the highest profits!

Our waitress from the night before was there too, so we wanted to rub it in her face and take a picture with our waiter who treated us the way it was meant to be!

Our tab would have come out to more than $600, but since it was fully comped, we only had to pay $40 for our 2nd round of drinks. hahahahaaaaaaaa

Stir Fried Sakun

Every now and then I take something that I love, and I design around it. This is my spin and vision when I think of these beloved brands/teams/artists/anything. This is me, stir frying :D

Sakun is a clothing brand based out of South Korea. I stumbled upon the Sakun site while looking through some bboy forums, trying to find some gear for my very short-lived bboy career. I saw their shoes (back when all-over print was all the craze) and fell in love with their logo and designs. I had to grab myself some gear, and luckily made a trip to Korea the following summer to attend my brother’s Korean wedding. I bought some of my favorite shirts from that store, including a “Sakun-ized” Hello Kitty and Bart Simkun t-shirt. I visit their site regularly, it’s a great source of inspiration to me and gives a good sense of where the next graphic design trends for street brands is going. All of their gear is clean, from their shirts and jeans to the watches and shoes! Check out some of my designs as well as some of the actual gear from the stores.

TM and Prelude Updates

This weekend was INCREDIBLE!!! Prelude Socal 5 was by far one of the best competitions thus far, and it’s because all the teams that were competing were bringing the heat! It was intense…

Congratulations to those who placed and a huge thank you to all those that competed and exhibitioned.

Highlights of the night for me:

APT’s three-peat victory
220’s set, it was definitely an upgrade for them, can’t wait to see them at Vibe
CADC’s Daft Punk-ish intro… EFFECTIVE!
This was Breakthrough’s first competition ever! Came very close to winning.
BK’s piece for Common Ground, insane.
Finally being able to watch Choreo Cookie’s medley live… I threw my water bottle up in the air… IT WAS THAT GOOD!!!

Sugar Cafe

While I was in San Francisco, traveling the streets of Union Square and Haight Street, I saw this really nice cafe. Let the pictures speak for themselves…

It’s a coffee house by day, bar lounge by night. Neat idea, and the best part is they pull it off very well. The menu is exactly what I would want to serve, just appetizers and finger foods. Nothing too heavy.

I wouldn’t want the fireplace, although it works for this type of cafe. No hard alcohol in my cafe, but wine would be a great touch of class. Somethings I’d take from here:

- Free internet for all customers and sit-ins.
- Switch foods from morning (bagels, muffins, croissants) to afternoon/evening (yogurts, cakes, kabobs, fondue).

Next time when I go to San Francisco, I’ll make sure to stop by here for a cup of coffee.
